CosPlay Event Looking for Photographers 16:34

Hay guys, the Sakuran Japanese Cultural Club is organizing a Cosplay Arts Festival and NYPPC would be their official photographer. I am now looking for photographers to be part of this team. I believe that this event would be a great event many would wanna take, especially for our DSLR users!

Some things to take note of for those who are keen to take part in this event:
1. You have to be committed to the event, which means that you have to be there from the start till the end of the event.
2. Your pictures will be used and submitted to our client(Sakuran Japanese Cultural Club). Please treat this as a formal event you are shooting for. Professionalism is required.

And here are some dates and times to take note of:
Main Event
Date: 16th July 2008
Time: 6.00pm to 9.30pm
Venue: Theatre for the Arts(TFA)

And here are the rehersal timings and we may require you to go down for them, but dont worry, we will allocate you the dates.

Full Dress Rehersal
Date: 9th July 2008
Time: 6.30pm to 9.00pm
Venue: TFA

Full run rehersal
Date: 15th July 2008
Time: 6.30pm to 9.00pm
Venue: TFA

Full run rehersal
Date: 16th July 2008
Time: 3pm to 5.00pm
Venue: TFA

For now, this will be it, and I will be adding more details as I receive them. So do check the blog constantly for updates. For those who are interested, please send an email to jj_allstar_@hotmail.com, telling me your name and contact. This will be on a first come first serve basis and I will be limiting the number of photographers to this event as we do not want too many people to be running about. From past experiences, the TFA is a rather dark place, so do take into consideration the limitations of your equipment as well.

Cheers =D

Enjoyed HortPark 16:53

Hi guys, hope everyone has enjoyed the trip to HortPark. Keen to go there again? ha. I certainly would love to visit that place again and again. Remember your groupings people? Do edit your shots and share your best/group's best during our review session which we will notify you guys about real soon. As mentioned during the outing, it would be great if as an individual, focus on a theme you would really like to cover during a field trip of your own or with the club. Like for me, it was solely patterns, and whatever I shot had something related with patterns. See you guys soon. Feel free to drop me questions anytime. =D What I've shot at HortPark can be viewed here!

Have fun!

And so, here are the details for the trip:
Date: 10th June 2007, Tuesday
Venue: HortPark
Meeting Time: 7.30am @ Commonwealth MRT for those who do not know how to get there

Do let us know if you are meeting at the Park itself. Feel free to call anyone including me @ 92311093.
Things to bring: Any sort of device that is able to capture images, Water, Umbrella in case it rains, Tibits?(to share of cos. ha)

Here's a map to show you where it is at.

Do drop us a mail to confirm that you are coming. And in the mail, please state the following: Name, HP number, Place you are meeting us(Commonweath MRT/HortPark)

And here's what I personally have got installed for you guys! As of that day, I would be lending my camera out to you guys! Of course, at the same time, this would be an opportunity for those who are interested to get a DSLR themself to get hands on and learn! Interested? Please drop me an email to jj_allstar_@hotmail.com with your name, hp no. and perhaps a picture of yourself because I'm bad at remembering people, plus there's just so many of you. Feel free to add me on msn as well!

So what will I be lending. Simply, a camera. ha. Especially to those who love Nikon. lol. D100(one of the oldest DSLR for Nikon), 24-85mm f/2.8-4, SB-80DX Flash. And if you are a Nikon user and wanna borrow some equipment, talk to me online. ha. 1 condition, you got to carry them for me and bring them back to my home. ha. And to those who wanna borrow my camera, these are some conditions as well,
1. You gotta have a card reader that reads CF card. it would be good if you have your own card.
2. You are gonna bring the pictures home, choose your best 10 shots and present them to us during the next review session. easy?
3. Bring your laptop that day if you have neither stated above so that I can load them for you.
4. You must have a willingness to learn and have at least some background knowledge to using one.

Sorry for the real long post guys. Hope to see you guys there! And here are some pictures I took while I was there the other time. HortPark
